So jumping right in, here are 3 steps to kickstart the momentum of happiness so you can manifest even if you are sad and depressed.

 

One: Accept negative emotions, and use them to evolve

Russ Harris, the writer of the book “The Happiness Trap” says, “The more we try to avoid the basic reality that all human life involves pain, the more we are likely to struggle with that pain when it arises, thereby creating even more suffering.”

So instead of trying to avoid sadness by doing things like isolating or drinking or maybe you throw yourself into work… Take time to accept your negative emotions 

How do you accept these hard emotions. Acceptance consists of:

  • Mindfulness
  • Self-compassion
  • Patience

For example if you loss your job and feeling depressed, maybe you can take some time to acknowledge how you feel with journaling and offerself some compassion and patience to feel this way. 

 

Two: Then ask yourself what are these emotions trying to tell you.

 Then move onto what is your Spirit trying to tell you by sending you negative emotions. Ask yourself:

  • Are my thoughts about my current situation not aligned with what I want? 
  • Or are my current actions in life contributing to my sadness

Really take time to step back to evaluate what thoughts and behaviors are related to how you feel.

In the lost your job example situation, you may have thoughts like “I’m such a failure” or “My life is over” that are negative and unhelpful thoughts that are making you feel sad. Or maybe you have stayed in bed everyday since losing your job and that is actually making you feel worse. 

 

Three: Then take action to change your thoughts or actions to align more with happiness.

Choose a more empowering way to think about the situation, or a more helpful way to act given your circumstances. 

In our example, you may choose to think about all your successes or what you are grateful for. You may choose to start looking for a new job that is more aligned with your values. 

And from there set about the trajectory to move closer and closer to what you value in life. Each small positive thought and action is going to help you feel a little better and vibrate a little higher. 

Don’t focus on getting rid of the sadness, focus on bringing in more of the positive. 

You can build momentum in feeling good and use that to propel your vibration and attract what you want. The key is to prioritize your happiness.

Let me give you an example. One of my clients told me how she wasn’t initially going to sign up for my program because she wasn’t quite sure how changing her mindset would help her manifest but she decided to give my program Dream Life Academy a shot anyway. 

What she found was that prioritizing her happiness was actually the catalyst she needed to start attracting her deepest desires and she went on to start manifesting her dreams BEFORE even fully completing the program. 

So just know that prioritizing your happiness is so important when it comes to manifesting. 

Remember manifesting what you want will not make you happy, but being happy will help you manifest.
